from my Ethiopia trip – two days in Gonder i
From time to time i return back with my memories and browse these images telling the almost forgotten stories about this trip. Many of the images in this archive folders are still unseen by me, not edited but categorized by different themes. I already published 17 posts and looks like have a photographed material for not less.
Today my photo story and a few words are about Gonder (or Gondar) where did we got from Bahir Dar by our minibus during 4 hours around 180km drive. I loved a contrasts of the life in this city – some images here taken from the balcony of my room in AIG hotel in the center of Gonder. These slums are coming right up to the backstreet of the hotel and i was happy to see these old and crazy built huts from the top.
enjoy the walks and be prepared for more..
some new construction in the middle of the slums close to the AG hotel.
workers of the hotel are sitting at the back side.
the construction workers
the first time i saw these huge eagles in these amounts. they were everywhere also in the central parts of the city
as you can see in many photos – these blue tuk-tuks are everywhere !
on our way to some party we stopped to weigh ourselves (1 birr = $0.037 for each) – one of the most ;popular ideas here to make fast and clean money at street.
this last one is a preview of the next post, when i documented my way from AG hotel to the biggest local open Air market – Kidame Gebeya. i read in news that at September 16,2016 almost all the market area was burnt to ashes. just unbelievable.
Other lives, another world…good to see.
thank you Paula ! will be continued with even more lives 🙂 !
