Isolated in 2020 – my Photozine made with Blurb.

Hello here. Today I would like to officially introduce my recently made and published on Blurb ” photozine “Isolated in 2020″”. I photographed the images which became the material for it in the far 2020, during the second (or third) massive isolation due to the only known by our government methods to combat the pandemic. It was a Holidays time and our offices were closed, so the only thing I had to do was staying at home and walking around my village and taking images.

It still wasn’t an idea to put them in one body of work for this zine. The original idea was publishing a book about the life of the empty “pandemic” city and the feeling of the modern era plague. These masks shocked me in the first weeks and months. But even more shocked the willingness of people to patiently put their lives in the hands of politicians, who created a new science based primarily on creating quick capital and not on saving people.

I photographed everything on the daily basis – on my way to work, during the short breaks in the middle of the workday and of course after my work. I don’t ever talk now about the weekly protests, which were rich in characters and various kinds of photo heroes. The whole the huge series of the documentary images photographed at streets is still in my archives, waiting for the right day to by published as another photo book.

I made the design of this zine with the free to use Blurb’s BookWright application, which i found very easy and understandable for the book making. The magazine cost is only $15 plus shipping. The Shipping cost is depend on the destination. US citizens are paying almost NOTHING for the economy delivery which is always much faster than declared by Blurb. For Europeans the sipping is also ok, but Australia, Japan and my country are paying almost 3 times of the zine cost.
