Light rail in Tel Aviv – first reportage from the center.
Something like one year ago i got a proposal to take a part in photographing the “Tel Aviv’s Light rail construction project”, but probably someone wanted to have more price offers, because no one contacted me after this. I wasn’t surprised. Tel Aviv is such small area with very big amount with journalists and photographers working in this direction many years, so the fact of this proposal was very strange from the start.
The talks about very close start of the ground parts of the constructions became one of the main topics for a locals and people who is coming to Tel Aviv every day for work. There are some visible and invisible problems – all traders in this area will feel the lowered demand for their offerings, huge traffic jams and even “invasion of rats”.
But i started this “personal project” with absolutely different idea – to explore and to show the urban beauty of the hard work of the big amount of people, coping with the heavy appliances and working at nights. I got some vigh vibes to see these lights. The feeling of the massive open Air party in the middle of megapolis with the heavy noise (instead of rhythmic music) and moving in all directions people.
My next post will be about the main nail of the start of the ground works in the center – deconstruction of the Maariv bridge – the ugliest bridge that i saw ever, but to imagine Tel Aviv without this construction – it will take some time to accept the idea that the Maariv bridge does not exist anymore. the last image in this series is the bridge ready for execution.
enjoy the urban “party”:
Thank you…
Victor, you did a great job with your private project and I just can’t wait to see the next post of this. Amazing colors in these nightshots.
We have a big project here causing endless traffic jams and lots of shops had to close already because they lost customers due to the construction areas all over the city. They build a tunnel for the tram which is in fact as unnecessary as rats… A very unpleasant story here.
But I didn’t want to rant, I wanted to say, that your way of shooting and telling a story works also in color!
Very well done my friend!
Hey Jurgen ! Thank you very much for these words and taking your look. It will be very long project very massive in terms of people and technology. I hope to shoot more different parts of this project and to show here 😉 thank you again.
