Snapshots from the car – my purposeless photography (part iii).
(Zero AI – 100% human created content).
Good evening – Добрый вечер – ערב טוב – Buenas noches – Добрий вечір, Қайырлы кеш !!! It’s late evening here and i hope that this attempt to write another blog post for my site will be successfully completed. I selected the accompanied for this post images yesterday night, But I was tired as hell for the rest of the finishing.
Deciding on the topic of this post was quite difficult. I mean that it was difficult to decide what exactly from the ready for publishing series i would like to put today. What is more important or closer to me?. Actually everything is important if i decided to take a picture of this. And for the theme today i picked the one, which i can’t continue photographing these days. The “Snapshots from the car” is my long-term “project” possible for me only with my preferred pocket size point and shot camera. I’m talking about my RIP Ricoh GRii camera.
I can’t imagine doing the same with the bulky Canon 5d mkii or with any film camera, well somehow i did a few shots from the window with Yashica T2, but it was absolutely different experience. One of the difficulties of this P&S Yashica is unability to preset the manual focus distance, which works like magic with Ricoh. Same about the manual shutter speed, which always was in my priority during any documentary work.
Well, enough about this sad stuff. Let’s move to another sad stuff. I’m kidding :-))) During the whole two recent weeks i got a deep inspiration while watching documentary videos about the Austin Augie’s trip to India. I love the video and stills works of this guy,, living his minimalist life in NY, traveling sometimes, and always bringing his outstanding documentary storytelling stile to his video and stills narratives. After one of his amazing posts about his collaboration with the locals, i I opened my archives about the trip to Ethiopia – one of my most impressive trips ever, and prepared a series of images for my next blog post. So, please stay tuned.
Here is one of the India trip episodes of Austin :
Now the next purposeless photography series:
i miss riding with you through ‚bombay‘, hon.
Yes Trillian, me too. Just was thinking yesterday how great it was once with all the G+ community and daily “meets” and conversations. Hope that you’re doing well
yes, totally. what a wonderful time it was. the world was so different back than and so less to worry about. today everything sucks and friends depart more and more instead of sticking together to fight the fucked up present. oh, dear. i think of you very often, dancing camel, sleeping on a plateau, exploring the desert, enjoying humus, friendly conversations in old town jerusalem, lemons from your garden, wandering carmel mountains … sounds like an utopia today. carrying in my heart like a treasure.
Yes all this like the fragments from the old dream. Once people used Social media to learn and to find new connections around the world. Today ppl write how they hate each other.
Happy Hanukkah, dear Victor.
You provided exactly what you intended to do. You pick the exact moment to catch thr differences in the light.
Beautiful shots really.
I’m wishing you a better tomorrow always. I’m in the states. NOT GOOD.
I live in the Tucson desert 🏜 surrounded by the Catalina mountains.
Be well,Victor…it’s always a challenge.
Thank you, Mary Germaine Cadigan 🕊🙏🏻
Hi Mary. Hope you’re doing well. Thank you for the kind words !
Fantastic shots as always. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Hey Naomi !! thank you very much. Not sure how sad it will be ;-)))))
Ho Ho Ho ;);) 😉
Hi Matt. Thank you very much. Merry Christmas to you and your family !
Have a cool Yule Victor, and keep going with the wonderful Snapshots from the Car series, really enjoying it.
Thank you for the kind words. I have some more in my archives 😉
As usual, a great series documenting street life (in Israel?).
Yes Derek all these are from Israel. I don’t remember already when i traveled last time… in 2019 just a few months before the pandemic hysteria.
Love the motion photograph series Victor. Motion blur too, when captured, is so ethereal. Provides a certain feeling when looking at the image. An everyday static image suddenly comes to life by dancing to a new tune. Expresses itself mysteriously by being seen in a different way. All the best.
you also expressed this so beautiful my friend. i love to catch motion blur for whatever – streets, portraits or the band photography. Love this look even more than in the perfectly frozen with very fast shutter speed. Thank you for taking a look and very kind words !
I loved taking motion blur photographs too Victor. So it is really satisfying to see your work and done so skillfully. Thank you too.
Мої вітання, Віктор!
Very interesting project! I am also thinking of trying something similar but with a small film Minox 35 on which I can pre-set the focus distance and aperture
Hi Andre! Great to hear from you. I will be happy to see your results 😉 Im looking for myself for more manually managed point and shoot
