to be honest – i do not like wedding ceremonies. but from the photographer point of view i love to document any event and wedding ceremony is definitely in the list of my interests. unplugged event photographer is like freeflying team member. you can express the story with you camera and your own rules – with or without flash, color or black and white, grainy look and blurred by motion guests. everything goes well for the timeless story. i will continue with more events…

As one who has photographed many weddings in his time, I agree with your sentiment that they may be a chore in some ways, but they also offer wonderful photographic opportunities……… which you very ably demonstrate with the photos you have posted!

These are very nice Victor, such candid moments that are not forced or artificial the way that wedding photography so often comes out.
I have only shot weddings as a favour/wedding gift for friends, not for money. I did not find it much fun at all – too much stress and expectation, too much like work! However, once I freestyled a friend’s wedding as you call it, and that was the most fun and I did take pictures I am quite happy with. I hope I managed to keep out of the way of the official photographers!
i really understand you and have same feelings about the stressy job and kind of impossibility to stay in full of life mood instead of very mainstreamed wedding mood. and i know that mostly my images are more popular for reviews after wedding then images from official photogs taken for money.
That could be awkward but good on them for admitting that the better shots are the ones they did not take out a mortgage for!
