Fomapan 400 exposed with medium format Holga camera part XIII.

Unfortunately, i can’t find energy and time to arrange my posts here in blog more often. But i do believe that almost everything what i’m doing is more about right timing and less about pressure. Specifically i hate the last one, and i have a lot of this right now at my workplace due to the different bureaucratic reasons. But i’m here not for complaining, so let’s move on to photography.
Today i want to complain on my Holga camera (hahaha not really, just kidding). This time i wasn’t surprised about how this camera is surprising me every single roll. The only thing is stable in Holga is imperfection. And it’s perfect how far from perfection these frames, because the perfection is boring me and makes me wanting to stop taking pictures. But it’s another theme about the perfect (:-]) connection between the amateur photography and psychology, at least for me.
This time I am by accident moved the “B/N” switch located on the bottom part of the camera to the “B” position. Someone on Flickr called them “B=Blurry, N=Not blurry”, but the right meaning is bulb mode of course. c
For these who missed my previous post, im glad to remind that two weeks ago i published my “Quarantine in the village – apocalypse now and here” photozine. Fully compressed with Black and White images, expressing the forcefully need of staying in the village and how it affected my seeing and perception.
I absolutely love these, Victor!
Thank you Crina 😉
You know, Victor — knowing those were taken on a Holga, they don’t look all that bad. The whole ‘Holga look’ is sort of muddy like this, usually. (Not that you can’t get good photos with a Holga, of course).
I still dig ’em.
Huge Thank you Matt. All of these were photographed during the winter foggy weather in the mountainside. Some of them double exposures. But finally this B switch changed the mood 😉
Oh, I’m sure it did. 😀
FYI, I just ordered your book too; looking forward to getting it, though with the influx of work I’m picking up lately, I’m sure I’ll have it for a while before I can enjoy it.
Wow Matt. Huge thank you. Its really exciting. Waiting for the notice that you got it..🙏
So easy to knock that B switch on the Holga, I’ve put a bit of tape over the switch. Really like the images.
Yes, i covered it now as you said. Thank you for the kind words 😉
I’m going to have to dig out my holga after seeing these! Love the ethereal quality of the shots.
Thank you very much !
and good luck
A few I followed on Flickr were Holga fans. I love the mystery here. It was a technique of motion blur for my own similar results on the LX.
thank you very much. i think that it is possible to simulate these results with every camera. Just to put it to the fully manual mode and to play with slow motion and control the focus manually. plus a little bit of underexposure can help.
Thanks for the insights.
