Fomapan 400 with Holga – plastic medium format camera – part vii
More than a year already passed from my previous post about this wonderful cooperation of the Holga plastic camera, Fomapan 400 120 film and a stand developing process in Rodinal R09 chemicals. Actually, usually I use a semi-stand developing process, but the difference is very small – just one or a few agitations of the tank in the middle of the whole one hour process. And even I did not post my Holga-Fomapan-Rodinal works and was too busy with everything else, I continued to use this camera from time to time and exposed 4 more films – three of them successfully done with mostly nature images and one roll was somehow damaged – I have no clue how this happened.
Before i started the writing for this post, i tried to listen to the recent video episode at Youtube Is Shooting Film a Waste of Money? by Fstoppers. I stopped the video after a few minutes of listening to the reasoning and recommendations about how superfluous our interest to film photography these days when it’s possible to create the same look with the digital software. Some 10 years ago I already was in this bandwagon of using additional textures, layers and grain adding effects to my images, but always felt this lasting feeling of doing something fake for myself and as a helper became this Holga camera – it was my first film camera with the help of which I got exactly that not perfect look.
Well, here the frames of the next seventh roll. Some frames I love less, some more. Some multi-exposed and some underexposed as well. And no people this time
These photos have , to me, such an ethereal quality.
