market madness – the walk in Bahir Dar Ethiopia trip
Some wase man said once (really said???) – “if you want to learn about locals – go to their market”. It was our third day of the visit and we had some time before to leave to Gondar. can you imagine some huge territory full of walking, sitting, selling and buying people? the strong mix of smells and colors, noises and sounds? Now I can imagine it and even express my feelings with a few posts about the Bahir Dar open-air market. we were surprised when a few kids recognized us and were happy to say hello – we just met them one day before in the different and far district of the city. I loved also to know that our two cameras were the only cameras in all territory of the market this day. This day I used two prime lenses for my shoots – 35mm Sigma Art and 135mm Canon, you can easily find the longer lens results by the shallow depth of field created by the last one.
Well, it’s so nice to visit these old posts and to read my first expressions and to get again that I still have half of taken by me images not edited and posted in any place, just categorized and well saved to few hard disks. Now after 4 years, I can add this sad fact, that I failed to manage another trip to Ethiopia. It’s still in my plans, but every day I less and less sure that it will happen soon.
