MONO band from Japan performing in the Barby live music venue, Tel-Aviv.
For me this place is the most suitable live music place I know in TelAviv and around for this kind of music that Mono are performing – it’s not very small, but also not too big and it was perfectly crowded by mixed age, with renewed sound system and great lighting effects, of course, if one knows how to use them right. The performance (i don’t like to use word show) stunning in all senses of the word speaking generally about the musical spectacle – their “Nowhere Now Here” World Tour Show #67.
As written in the description for their latest album “Nowhere Now Here” released on January 2019: “The conflict and correlation between dark and light is a universal theme with a historically rich history. Musically, perhaps no band in the 21st Century has mined that relationship more consistently or effectively than Japan’s MONO.” It’S impossible to say more precisely about the ART of this collective.
Many fans of MONO define them as post-rock band but, “The band have cited a variety of experimental, avant-rock and classical music artists as inspirations but stated that their aim is to transcend genre, rejecting the post-rock label which has often been applied to them” – by Wikipedia.
