Quarantine in the village – another black and white photo essay.
Finally, this quarantine got to me too. During the Pesach holidays, the complete lockdown was announced in the whole country and I had to stay a few days in my village living place. But. The difference of the lockdown in a city and in the village is obvious – I had this easy option to go inside the village and to walk among the local groves and fields around without any limitation. I used this option to go everywhere with my cameras and shoot film and digital – every media for its own purpose.
I’m really sorry for this kind of “fake” quarantine images because all this easily can be taken during the regular days of our regular life. The only connection to the quarantine is the date in the images EXIF data and probably a little bit my mood. But, honestly, I found myself in this feeling of relaxation and tranquility that was much stronger than any sense of danger.
To be continued… possible also in color.
Take care and stay safe please !
Beautiful pieces. Loved the pool of water at the end. Stay safe and well, too
thank you for taking a look and for the feedback ! stay safe you too !
These are the real! Great shots!
Not sure if the words of Peaceful will fit .. More like substantial life!
Hey Naomi ! happy to hear fro you ! everything is substantial – even abandoned or discarded things or the parts of our life.
Yes so true ..
Great stuff! real things in frames ..
Seems you are alone in this little village. All the other people have left this place to anywhere. Only the white straycat has stayed and looked horrified into your camera. It looks to me as a scene from the “Walking Dead”. Where are the Zombies who could be lurking at any corner? What makes it with us? Suddenly, everyone who meets us is an enemy.
Take care my friend!
Hey Burkhard ! im happy to see you here.
You’re right, the days i was forced to stay at home were absolutely empty outdoor. Ppl preferred to sit at home or in their gardens and to watch Netflix. During these walks i met some ppl. Really here and there. Im not familiar with my neighbors so with some of them i started to talk, some of them wanted to stay far from a stranger with a camera. Another day i decided to go with the only Hasselblad and to take a portraits of ppl but still have to finish the roll.
28 days after 😀
Good job!
thank you !!
Beautiful work Victor. The sense of stillness and tranquility perfectly translated into visual form. I understand what you said about the “easy images” but there must be a reason why and how you’ve taken them now and one still has to see and notice simple things around. The mood is there too , great stuff!
Thank you Yuri. These were days very similar to the Kippurim day. No cars, no noise. I think that even birds felt in love with this situation 😉
