Publishing directly from the WordPress app.

I never tried this before – to publish the new post directly from the mobile application. I always use the online Web WordPress installed on my self hosted server. It is always different, i believe it is much slower, due to the dealing with the WordPress code. But i always loved this way of posting, even though sometimes I wanted to be a little bit more spontaneous and immediate.

So this post is kind of a test of this mobile spontaneity.

These days, in addition to this small test, I’m checking and considering my return to the Fine Art America online on demand printing site, due to the low sales and activity on the RedBubble site, which became a real mess for those who focused on the old school classic photography prints sales. Or maybe I’m an unsuccessful salesman (actually I’m a bad salesman, no doubt about it).

I will write more about what is happening in the next more “serious” post, which will be written in the usual slow but sure way ;-))

Today i would like to represent a few of my recent scans, initially photographed with Horizon202 panoramic shooter on Ilford FP4 film.

  1. As an FYI, the email I receive on your posts did not show the links correctly, images were noted with?? symbols. Reader showed the first sentence or so with a link to click and read the entire post. I cannot click like for in reader. Last I cannot comment without a second login to WordPress. Since you are testing thought I would give some feedback. I always use the web based interface for some of the reasons above. You also might want to test using a gallery of images in a post…that’s another adventure.

    1. Thank you Ted. Yes i put my attention that the sentences are not constant. I have no idea why it happened. As usual, when i write with the PC web application, i use the WP code and use the preview, but the mobile application is too simple. Seems like it was only a one time adventure and i will continue my regular way off publishing.
Huge thank you for the help.

  2. I hope you get this, the first one wasn’t sent. The mobile interface is not a pleasant adventure. Your email notice of a post comes in with errors in the links you included, viewing / commenting requires second login. Just an FYI

  3. I’ve tried both Redbubble and FAA and dropped both. Their big sellers are pleasing decorative color things – sunsets and flowers and the like. I realized I didn’t belong there. My photos aren’t wall art. By the way all I use is the iPhone Jetpack app. I don’t even have a computer. I get along with it fine.

    1. Huge thank you for the kind words. Exactly what is Redbubble and FAA sites are for. For the on demand high quality prints. I have to scan one of them for the highest quality and will publish it on one of the galleries. Thank you again.

  4. The **WordPress Mobile app** and the **WordPress Web application** use the same core backend code—primarily the **WordPress REST API**—to interact with your site. This means:

    – Both rely on the **WordPress CMS** running on your server for content management, updates, and API calls.
    – They perform similar actions (e.g., creating posts, retrieving comments, uploading media) via the same endpoints.

However, the **mobile app streamlines its functionality** to focus on essential tasks, while the web application provides full access to all WordPress features, including advanced tools for customisation and development. Despite sharing the same backend, the mobile app’s frontend is optimised for mobile devices, resulting in differences in user experience and available features.

    1. Thank you for this info Khurt. As i put my.attention, my mobile app post is lacking the feature image which should be visible during the brief look. My post is the text only and one needs to open it with the goal to see the images
