The “Balfour protest” diary – part iii – a new slideshow.
I’ve been hatching this idea for a long time and always was stuck with another reason why not. What music to put to the background. How long this slideshow should be so as not to lose interest and become boring and how many images to include. Finally, it’s come to me spontaneusly, so as i always believe – everything has its time (but sure sometimes we have to push ourself).
About what is going here in my country. We are in deep lockdown. The political lockdown. They needed it with just two ideas – to stop the Balfour protest in Jerusalem and to shut our mouths. Well, it’s too hardcore to drive to Jerusalem these days with all the posts and checks on the roads, but with the limited ability to go 1000 meters from the living or working place, they got 3000 small protests in the whole country a few times every week.
If you love this slide show, please check the first one that i published “one week ago”
I just saw Part ii, the Balfour protest. You did a brilliant job of capturing the actions and strong feelings of the protesters, but I wasn’t sure what was being protested. A Google search indicated that government actions to shut down the economy to combat the spread of COVID were at least partly the trigger for the protests. Is that correct? In Vancouver, and in much of Canada for that matter, there is strong support for government efforts to combat COVID. True, there are protests against lock-down measures, especially in Quebec, but not in Vancouver where I live.
It’s an excellent work.. adding background of people’s voice was feels like I was there on at least near. then those atmospheric psychedelic tune was just brilliant.
