The new normal – reportage from the Jerusalem, TelAviv, Yafo triangle.
The new variants, the new rumors, the new fake news, the new breaking stories, the new vaccines, the new rapid test, the new limitations, the new restrictions, the new threat, the new cases, the new WHO recommendations, the new naming system, the new social norm, the new measures, the new cases, the new paranoia, the new common, The new normal, the new [w0rld] 0rder. I really want my OLD habits and my OLD routine of the boring life back. Too much of this new shit.
Well, around 60-70% of citizens of country already got their two jabs. The vaccination worked as a tranquilizer – initially, vaccinated began to fear the unvaccinated. Like witches or AIDS carriers. This situation was strange but actually, it was artificially created by the Authorities and the repeating after them media. Finally, the political situation changed, the conflict won its first place, and the rumbles about vaccination, masks, and the new variants just moved to the last place of actuality. People forgot or did not have time to put on masks when they fled to bomb shelters or stairwells during the sirens announcing a missile attack.
I went to the old Jaffa port without any idea or prediction that just in one week all the area of the old city will be filled by clashes, fire, throwing stones, some killed and wounded, screams of mothers, and powerlessness of the police. One of the biggest shames was a burned Jewish-Arab Theatre located in the highest point of the old Jaffa, one of the most beautiful viewpoints to sea, TelAviv coastline, and to Sunsets.
All these people, sitting in this beautiful and silent isolation, also had no idea when the next time they will have any desire to visit this place again.
The images from Jerusalem were taken before the clashes and the conflict started. During these walks I spoke a lot with people and nothing predicted the chaos we went to. Telaviv was my recent destination. The Center of the city and Florentine area became crowded again, with no masks, and almost no signs of the hysteria and the terror of the police and inspectors which dominated here just a few months ago.
Wonderful pictures Victor. Great moments and compositions.
Thank you Daniel
