why I love night photography, and why you should too iii
from time to time i love to return back to this theme. because of the fact that night photography is one of my favorite forms of taking images, i feel that i shoot a lifetime long, unending project about my night walks. one of my secrets of always having time for this is to park a car not too close to the places of my evening-night visits, so i always have some time to find something worth clicking during my “find my car” promenade.
this series taken during last year with 3 different lenses – Sigma 35mm, Canon 50mm and Canon 135mm. of course my favorite focal length from these 3 is 35, even i infinitely love the 135/2 for the night photography. this prime long lens creates very interesting “cinematheque” look and i used it for my project with the same name.
btw… my Canon 50/1.4 started making problems – makes a noise during focusing process, became slower and not smooth. i took it to the local service and got price quote for the repair close to $170 what deeply surprised me. the price for the new 50/1.4 in the same lab-store is about $320 and sounds too stupid to pay more than half for it rehabilitation. 5 bottom images taken with this 50mm and i think that i can continue using it prior to the final demise. really “The King is dead, long live The King!”
enjoy the low light…
thank you and welcome to visit again…
There it is. Great.
thank you Marcos !
As a fellow lover of night-photography I don’t need any convincing to get out after dark — but you’ve certainly inspired me with your images to do it more often, Victor! Beautiful work.
fully understand you, but sure some tips will help to my friends here to stay at street until late 🙂 thank you very much for the feedback
You really work well in black and white. RE the film camera repair I was going to recommend a place but when I saw dollars I realise that you are not in the U.K.! If you are let me know, I can send you the repair shop website, very reasonable prices and amazing service!
Hey Guy thank you very much. Im living in Israel but i put the price in dollars just for better understanding for everyone. About this lens – this one is old something like 6 year old lens and it worked very well almost everyday all this time. I love it because of size but actually last time i use more by 35mm. Thank you again !
Excellent work! I love walking around after hours. There is something therapeutic about it.
Exactly the feeling – rehabilitation and relaxing.
Great stuff, requires even more attention to the light fall. Y’r a star at night (or any!) photography
